TDIF: A Shutout to Remember

Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, TCIPF Staff, This Day in NFL History

On this date in football – December 10, 1939 – the Green Bay Packers defeated the New York Giants, 27-0, in the NFL championship game.  Seeking revenge from its loss to the Giants in the 1938 title game, the Packers, led by head coach Curly Lambeau, became the first team to record a shutout in an NFL Championship Game – the win was also their fifth title.

Here’s a look back at that historic game at Wisconsin State Park in West Allis, Wisconsin.
