A Look Into Week 5 of ‘NFL Turning Point’

Greg Smith, Teams, Turning Point

Editor’s Note: NFL Films Producer Greg Smith works on the show “NFL Turning Point”, which premieres every Wednesday night at 10 PM ET on NBC Sports Network.  Here’s Smith’s input as he mentions the late Steve Sabol’s thoughts on the show.

At the beginning of last season, Steve Sabol saw “NFL Turning Point” for the first time and was pleased.  He knew his team of people at NFL Films had created something special.

Steve said, “Great music.  Great shots.  Great story telling.  That was a heck of a show.”
With Steve’s passing, those of us who are lucky enough to work at NFL Films are proud to carry his legacy with shows, like “NFL Turning Point,” that feature all of the best ingredients our company has to offer: Beauty, Drama, Creativity, and Passion for the greatest sport of all – a sport Steve loved dearly.
This week, Turning Point’s team of Producers are busy putting the finishing touches on six interesting and entertaining blocks of television that will air on NBC Sports Network Wednesday night at 10 pm.
Tomorrow’s show will include:
– Drew Brees from his record-breaking night.  During the game, Brees wore a microphone for NFL Films to continue to document and preserve the history of the game.  Tune in to hear his reaction directly from the field.
– The Colts emotional win over the Packers, featuring mic’d up sound from Coach Pagano in minicamp.
– Brady/Manning XIII, featuring mic’d up sound from Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo.
– JJ Watt and Aaron Rodgers, previewing this Sunday night’s Packers/Texans game.
We’re still in the middle of editing the show right now, so check back on the blog tomorrow for a video preview.
Enjoy the show and join the conversation – #NFLTurningPoint
