TDIF: First Two-Point Conversion in NFL History

Cleveland Browns, TCIPF Staff, This Day in NFL History

On this date in football ─ September 4, 1994 ─ Cleveland Browns punter Tom Tupa scored the first two-point conversion in NFL history.  Experimented by the NFL in 1968, the two-point conversion rule wasn’t adopted by the NFL until 1994.  After successfully recording two other conversions during the 1994 season, Tupa would earn the nickname “Two Point Tupa.”

Relive this historic moment, featured in the 1994 Browns’ season highlight film, “Return to the Playoffs.”
