On May 20, 1927, all-time great Vikings coach Bud Grant was born in Superior, Wisconsin. Grant lettered in 9 sports at the University of Minnesota. He played on 2 NBA championship teams with the Minneapolis Lakers, as well as for the Philadelphia Eagles and in the CFL, where he would eventually begin his coaching career with Winnipeg. He led Minnesota to four Super Bowls, and in 1994 was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
