Before his third son received a second Super Bowl ring, his second son began a second act in the Rockies, even long before he was called Archie, Elisha Archibald Manning III was born – 63 years ago today, May 19, 1949. A native of Drew, Mississippi and star at Ole Miss, Manning played for the Saints, Oilers and Vikings during a 14 year NFL career. He never played on a playoff team, though in 1978 Archie Manning was honored as an All-Pro and the UPI NFC Player of the Year.
