On this day in 1971, Super Bowl V, or the “Blunder Bowl” was played. The game featured 11 combined turnovers, including seven by the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Colts.
The Colts defeated the Dallas Cowboys, 16-13, to earn redemption from their loss in Super Bowl III. It was also the first Super Bowl played after finalization of the AFL-NFL merger.
