On this day in a 2004 Wild Card playoff game, Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck made a fatal error when, after winning the coin toss in overtime, proclaimed that they would take the ball and score. A few minutes later, Hasselbeck threw an interception to Green Bay’s Al Harris, who returned it all the way for the game-winning touchdown.
It was a quarterback duel between Brett Favre and Matt Hasselbeck, and a chess match between Mike Holmgren and Mike Sherman.
