Former Steeler Kordell Stewart set the record for the longest scoring run by a quarterback on this day in 1996, when he sprinted 80 yards for a touchdown against the Panthers.

“Slash” provided the Pittsburgh offense with explosiveness, but it wasn’t enough for the 10-5 Steelers to beat the 11-4 Panthers on the road, as Carolina clinched its division with one of the biggest wins in franchise history, 18-14.
