“INSIDE THE NFL:WEEK 1” AIRS TONIGHT, SEPTEMBER 16 AT 9:30PM ET ON NFL NETWORK

EDITOR’S NOTE: NFL Films has some of the best cinematographers in sports, artists who make visual poetry out of the brutal game of football.  Check in every Wednesday to see our best shots of the week!

The 2015 NFL Season is finally upon us, and the first week was one you did not want to miss. Marcus Mariota’s spectacular four touchdown debut vs. Jameis Winston’s costly rookie mistakes. The never-ending Giants/Cowboys duel of the fates that ended with a bang. Reigning MVP of the league Aaron Rodgers showing that he’s still the best QB in the league. These stories are just a few that will be discussed on “Inside the NFL” tonight on NFL Network.

It’s amazing how everything you need to know about these incredible stories can be summed up with a single shot.  The calm but determined composure on Mariota’s face under pressure as he rolled right and threw the touchdown to Sankey. The New York Giants defenders, even though it looked like Beasley had beaten them on the play, swarmed together to the ball, causing a turnover that changed the momentum of the game. Even those few seconds when you watch a beautiful pass fly through the air in slow motion make your heart race, unsure of what’s next once gravity brings it back down.

If you like these shots, tune in watch even more of our cinematographer’s work on “Inside the NFL”, which airs this season Tuesday nights on Showtime at 8:00PM/ET and Wednesdays on NFL Network at 9:30PM/ET.
