THE TOP 100 OF 2014: The Disciple of Dick LeBeau

Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, TCIPF Staff, Top 100

Hall of Fame Dick LeBeau FootballPittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau has been coaching in the NFL since 1973, and has long been known as one of the best defensive minds in football. But before LeBeau was roaming the sidelines and sending in playcalls, he spent 14 seasons as a defensive back for the Detroit Lions. LeBeau, a product of Ohio State, was part of one of the best secondaries in football at the time, but he’s been out of uniform for more than 40 years. That didn’t stop Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor.

Always a fantastic interview, Taylor places LeBeau at the top of his list, disregarding the fact LeBeau isn’t eligible to be one of the Top 100 players of 2014.

NFL Top 100 airs each Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on NFL Network. Join the conversation on Twitter with #NFLTop100 and click here to see the full currently released rankings.
