- Kicking off the show this week is the Packers and Cowboys game. The first half of this game was dominated by the Cowboys’ 2013 version of the ‘Triplets’; Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray, and Dez Bryant. In the first half alone, Dallas churned out 332 total yards, 93 on the ground, and jumped out to a 26-3 halftime lead. However, this game was played in December, Tony Romo’s least favorite month of the year. Everyone watching knew that this first half success was almost too good to be true. Wearing a wire this week, not even Dez Bryant was able to stop the downward spiral that became the second half Cowboys. The Packers completely dominated on both sides of the football, scoring five touchdowns and forcing two interceptions, all in the second half. With three minutes left in the game, see how a Tony Romo audible resulted in an all too familiar outcome and proved to be this game’s Turning Point.
- Heading into last weekend’s matchup, the Patriots had defeated the Dolphins seven straight times. So, with the first half winding away, Dolphins Coach Joe Philbin did something slightly unorthodox; he stopped the clock and gave Tom Brady and co. MORE time to score. Even though the Patriots scored, this decision showed that Philbin had the upmost confidence in his own quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. The Dolphins ended the half with a score, jumped out to a seven point lead, and then scored a touchdown after being down three points late in game. All extremely impressive, but there was one problem, Tom Brady still had 1:15 on the clock and three timeouts left. See how a brand new face changed the game for the Dolphins and helped Miami keep their playoff hopes alive.
- Not only is Cam Newton one of the game’s best young quarterbacks, but he is also one of the most charismatic players in the NFL. After a tough loss in New Orleans, and another matchup with them on the horizon, this matchup with the Jets was the perfect trap game for the Panthers. However, Cam was able to find a way to put just enough points on the scoreboard. Mic’d up for this victory, see how Cam is able to lead his teammates on the field and make them laugh off it.
