Tonight on “NFL Turning Point”: Panthers Get Huge Win

Teams, Turning Point

Heading into their Week 10 matchup, the talk of the Bears Lions games was the health of Jay Cutler. Cutler sped up his groin rehab, which allowed him to take the field in this week’s divisional matchup. Cutler looked like his old self, but as the game wore on, the hits from the Lions front 4 started to take their toll. Struggling to move within the pocket, Coach Marc Trestman was forced to take his QB out of the game in favor of backup Josh McCown. McCown marched the Bears down the field for a late game touchdown and had his team within a two point conversion of tying it up. However, it once again was the Lions stout defensive line that preserved their victory.

Not only is Richard Sherman one of the top CBs in the league, but he might also be one of the game’s most avid learners. His physical talent helped him reach the NFL, but there is something else that has gotten him to the level he is at now. Sherman sits down for a film study to analyze at some tape and convey to everyone what makes him one of the game’s elite.

The Panthers have won five straight games and currently have the league’s second rated defense. Both impressive figures, yet it took a hard fought victory over the 49ers for them to finally start to gain the praise they deserve. Check out what makes this defensive unit so strong and how it is helping them win games they weren’t able to win the past.

While the AJ Green Hail Mary might be the play everyone is talking about, the Ravens defense was a huge reason they were able to win this game. Generating five sacks and three interceptions, the Ravens were able to overcome a poor day offensively to still compete in this game. Check out how a defensive stop in overtime propelled the Ravens to their second divisional win of the season.

The Honey Badger has been referred as the most fearless animal in all the animal kingdom. Tyrann Mathieu has embraced his nickname and has become one of the most fearless defenders in the NFL. Mic’d up for this week’s game; see how the Honey Badger has emerged as a serious rookie of the year candidate.

You can catch all this and more on “NFL Turning Point,” tonight at 11/10c, only on NBC Sports Network.
