By now, the Buccaneers and Eagles should be accustomed to playing in down-to-the wire games at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. This past weekend, the Eagles’ Nick Foles delivered the game-winning touchdown pass as time expired, stunning the Buccaneers, 23-21. Philadelphia’s rookie quarterback, from the University of Arizona, finished the game 32 of 51 for 381 yards, adding two touchdown passes and rushing for one.
Flashing back to 2006, when the two teams met on the same soil, the score was eerily identical. This time, Tampa Bay’s Matt Bryant hit a 62-yard field goal with four seconds left, propelling the Buccaneers to a 23-21 win against the Eagles. Here’s a look back at that dramatic finish six years ago, featuring Buccaneers radio announcer Gene Deckerhoff, as originally presented on “Inside the NFL.” And, be sure to tune in to “Inside the NFL”, tonight at 9 p.m. ET only on Showtime.
