Football will be played on English soil this weekend. No, we’re not talking about English soccer clubs such as Manchester United or Chelsea, we’re talking about an American football game – between the St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots.
The first NFL London game was played at Wembley Stadium in 2007. Since then, the NFL International Series have appointed the capital city four games, in hopes to expand the NFL brand into new markets around the world.
This weekend marks the annual International Series game, where the Patriots seek to come forth victorious a second time in London – last defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009. Here’s a look back at that game, as originally presented in “Inside the NFL.” Also, don’t forget to tune in to tonight’s episode of “Inside the NFL,” which starts at 9 PM/ET only on Showtime.
