TDIF: Eric Dickerson Announces His Retirement

On this date in football nineteen years ago, Eric Dickerson, the No. 7 rusher in NFL history, announced his retirement.  Well-known for his prescription signature goggles, Dickerson viewed the field perfectly, running calm, quick and smooth past exhausted defenders while he was with the Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Raiders and Atlanta Falcons.  Dickerson had the natural ability to turn it up a notch when others were winding down, hence developing the nickname “Mr. Fourth Quarter.”
