This week as a part of NFL Films Presents you will see how New York Giant Steve Weatherford went from journeyman punter to Super Bowl Champion. I met Weatherford when I was an Assistant Director on HBO’s Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets. He was the instigator behind one of the funnier scenes that season.

king with Weatherford at Hard Knocks we knew he was a very charismatic guy and a phenomenal athlete, so we continued following his career as he made the move to the Giants. Teammate Chris Canty described him as the most athletic kicking specialist in the NFL. I would describe him as one of the best interviews I’ve done in my 8 years at NFL Films.
We shot the piece in Weatherford’s hometown of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was home for the weekend hosting a charity 5K event. The interview was done at his high school. To check out the feature, tune into NFL Films Presents, airing this week at the following times (all times Eastern):
