On this date in football ─ September 8, 2011 ─ Green Bay Packers kick returner Randall Cobb tied the NFL record for the longest kickoff return for a touchdown. Cobb, the former University of Kentucky All-America selection, ran back a 108-yard touchdown against the New Orleans Saints, tying the record with former New England Patriot Ellis Hobbs. Not only was Cobb’s feat impressive, but doing it as a rookie in his debut, made it that much more extraordinary.
