TDIF: Houston’s Franchise Gets a Name

On this date in 2000, Houston’s new franchise officially announced their team name as the Houston Texans.  CEO and Chairman of the Texans, Bob McNair, would unveil the logo to the public, focusing on five points which represent pride, courage, strength, tradition and independence.  The Texans would show their strength in 2011, clinching their first playoff berth and becoming AFC South champions.
