Today, linebacker Carl Banks celebrates his 50th birthday.   The third overall pick in 1984 from Michigan State University, Banks was an integral part of the New York Giants’ stout defense nicknamed the “Big Blue Wrecking Crew.”  The “Crew” helped the Giants capture the 1986 and 1990 Super Bowl titles.  In Super Bowl XXI against the Denver Broncos, Banks played one of his best games, recording 14 total tackles, including ten solo tackles.
