This Day In Football: Mad Links Edition

New York Jets, Nick Condit, Tales from the Vault, This Day in NFL History

New York Jets’ kicker Nick Lowery, nicknamed “Nick the Kick,” tied the NFL record for most field goals made in a career on this day in 1996. The man with one of the best moustaches in football was red hot and went on to break the record with 384 successful kicks. But his fire was quickly put out by Morten Andersen who went a few steps above Lowery, easily cutting down and squashing his record like a bug.
